1) Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how data is processed when using the Azim mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the data processing practices described in this policy.

2) Data Controller

3) Categories of Data Processed

The App is designed to work without requiring an account and follows a local-first approach. The following types of data may be stored on the user's device:

  • Prayer, habit, streak and progress records
  • Quran bookmarks, notes and user preferences
  • Notification preferences (prayer, hadith and streak reminders)
  • Location data (if permission is granted for prayer time calculation)
  • Manually selected location data

4) Purposes of Data Processing

Data is processed only for the following purposes:

  • Providing core application functionality
  • Calculating and displaying prayer times
  • Scheduling local notifications
  • Personalizing the user experience
  • Enabling iCloud backup and restore functionality (if enabled)

5) Third-Party Services

The App may communicate with third-party services for certain features:

  • Apple App Store / StoreKit: subscription purchases and management
  • RevenueCat: subscription validation and entitlement management
  • Apple iCloud (optional): backups if explicitly enabled by the user
  • Public APIs for prayer times, Hijri calendar, and similar information
  • Content providers for Quran and hadith sources

These providers may have their own privacy policies governing their services.

6) Data Sharing

The App does not sell or share user content data with third parties for advertising or commercial purposes. Data may only be processed as required for technical operations or legal obligations. The App also does not use third-party analytics or advertising tracking tools.

7) Data Retention

Local data remains on the device until the user deletes it or removes the App. If iCloud backup is enabled, data may remain stored in the user's iCloud account until deleted by the user.

8) Permissions

  • Notification permission: used for local reminders.
  • Location permission: used to calculate accurate prayer times.

Permissions can be managed at any time through the iOS Settings app.

9) Security

Reasonable technical and organizational measures are implemented to protect data. However, no digital system can guarantee 100% security.

10) Children's Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience. Parents or legal guardians should supervise the use of the App by minors.

11) User Rights

Users can delete their data within the App at any time or remove the App to delete all locally stored data from their device.

12) Policy Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be published within the App along with the updated date.
